New Patented Technology
This past year, Van der Stähl Scientific was awarded a US patent for a new seal and test integrated packaging machine. The new Viú™ sealer was designed to integrate the sealing and package testing in order to provide a seamless system that manages regulatory testing utilizing the ASTM F-88 standard. More will be released within a few months prior to market launch.

The new Viú™ sealer integrates package testing with a motorized peel-tester that incorporates thin-film grip chucks in order to perform in-process testing of flexible device pouches.

[Viú Sealer]

The new Viú Medical Pouch Sealer promises microprocessor-managed seal accuracy with integrated electronics that will prompt users into performing seal strength tests. The seal numbers between testing is user-defined.

Data collected during this seal test process is stored on a Compact Flash card and can be interpreted through sealers' included software program.

Sealer is tentatively slated for a 2007 release pending quality assurance studies, beta-testing and burn-in sessions.


Integrated Visual Seal Inspection
The new Viu Medical Pouch Sealer will also integrate a patented side-lit 3x magnification window, allowing operators to apply a visual standard in order to develop a sensible pass/fail criteria for visual seal inspection.
